PET BOARDING
...
Pets are like our children - we feed, nurture, and lavish them with attention. At Laketown Animal Hospital, our kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there.
Here are some things to know if you plan on boarding your pet:
-
We feed Purina Pro Plan EN once a day in the morning and treats in the evening.
-
You are welcome to provide your pet's regular food. If you bring your own food we ask that dry food is pre-measured and pre-bagged for each individual feeding.
-
We do not accept any bedding - we provide all bedding for our boarders. This is so that we do not ruin yours if it needs to be washed while here.
-
We accept Kong toys, Nyla bones, and rubber chew toys. We do not accept rawhide, rope, stuffed toys, or small toys that could be a choking hazard.
-
All boarding pets must be current on vaccines 7-10 days prior to their boarding reservation. For dogs the required vaccines are Rabies, DA2PP (distemper / adenovirus / parainfluenza / parvovirus), and Bordetella (kennel cough). For cats the required vaccines are Rabies and FVRCP.
-
Dogs are taken outside three times a day by our kennel technicians, and our veterinary technicians and doctors administer any medications should your pet need them during their stay (there is an additional $5.15 charge per day for pets on medications or supplements). Medications and supplements must be labeled in separate containers - we do not allow medications or supplements to be mixed in with your pet's food.
-
Your pet will not come into direct contact with any other pets during their stay - each animal has their own kennel and their own outdoor run when they are taken outside.
-
Boarding rates vary by weight of the pet. If you pick up before noon on the day your pet goes home you are not charged for that day of boarding.
-
We do not board diabetic pets that are not being managed by one of our veterinarians.
Upon check-out you will receive a boarding report card detailing your pet's stay at our facility. We encourage you to stop by our clinic any time for a tour of our boarding facility. Call us today to schedule your pet's boarding reservation. We also offer grooming services if you would like your pet to receive a bath or haircut during their stay!
